I tried yoga for the first time tonight Wow! I can't even describe how much I loved it. They have evening classes at my gym and “Karategirl” has been trying to convince me to go with her since I got back into working out.
We have been meeting at the gym in the evenings after work, but when she goes to yoga, I usually just jog on the treadmill. For some reason I thought that yoga wasn't a good work out; that it was just stretching. Was I ever wrong!
I finally decided to try it because my legs were a bit sore from my hike on Saturday, I figured an hour of stretching would feel really good.
But it was so much more than stretches. The different poses all flow into each other.
I don't know that I was doing but I could feel my muscles working hard. I was sweating like crazy! No wonder yoga is so popular these days. The instructor was so good, too. She had this really peaceful way about her and you could tell she was very strong. I can't wait to try it again.
I know you'd like yoga if you just gave it a chance. Looking forward to the nex class together!
What kind of yoga did you do? I've done yoga that is done in a room that's 105 degrees--you sweat so much.
I love how yoga connects the body and mind. You feel good physically, but you also get a peaceful, relaxed feeling afterwards.
